Athens Christian Church is a non-denominational, independent New Testament Church. Our plea is to restore in practice and in Spirit the Church revealed in the Bible. We meet on the first day of the week for the same purpose that the early Church met: the apostles’ doctrine, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayer (Acts 2:42). We are a congregation of immersed believers in Jesus Christ. We are a body patterned after the Church founded in the New Testament, established on the Day of Pentecost, 30 A.D. (Acts 2). We accept the Bible as the inspired Word of God and the only rule of faith and practice. As a congregation, we believe that the only name that God has given for His people to wear is “Christian” and we wear no other name. We have no book but the Bible and no creed but Christ.

At every scheduled service we have age-appropriate classes for children and a variety of opportunities for study and searching the Word of God. Our Sunday morning worship service is a tasteful blend of contemporary music and traditional hymns and choruses. Our sermons and lessons are Biblically sound and provide opportunities for Spiritual growth and enrichment.
