ECBC was organized in 1899 on what was then known as Athens-Watkinsville Highway. There were seven “charter members” who chose Rev. A. J. Wade as the first pastor. Since that time, the membership has grown and built the present sanctuary, education wing, and Fellowship Hall. From the beginning, Edwards Chapel has been a member of the Southern Baptist and Georgia Baptist Conventions, as well as of the local Sarepta Baptist Association.

Of course, a church is not the buildings, but the people. Visit us and you will receive a warm welcome from people who want to be your friends. We would consider it a privilege to meet you and show you the meaning of our church motto: “Seeking To Serve.”
