“Emmanuel College is a Christ-centered community in the Pentecostal and evangelical traditions committed to integrating faith and learning. Through liberal arts and professional programs individuals are inspired and equipped to become Spirit-led world changers” (mission statement adopted by faculty, February 2000). For over 80 years Emmanuel has maintained a unique mission and developed a significant, strategic position in American higher education as a Christian College. Emmanuel has seen students from 22 different states and eight foreign countries. In addition, Emmanuel now offers 22 different baccalaureate-level majors – including Business Administration, Christian Ministries, Communications, Education, English, History, Kinesiology, Pre-Law, Psychology, and several other areas. Emmanuel is noted as one of the nation’s most economical educational values with tuition being significantly lower than the national average for private colleges, and nine out of ten students receive financial aid.
If there has ever been a time in the history of the United States of America when Christian colleges are needed, it is today. Our society has moved drastically away from the educational opportunities envisioned by our forefathers, and Christian liberal arts colleges are the last option for many individuals who desire a quality higher education in an environment free from many of the problems encountered today in secular colleges and universities. Emmanuel College is dedicated to the intellectual, physical, personal, and spiritual growth of each student within the framework of a liberal arts education in an environment of Christian concern.
